Sutton's first day of preschool

Sutton is usually our little shy guy, but the funniest thing happened at his "meet the teacher playdate." When I arrived at Miss Danai's and was signing all the paperwork downstairs, Sutton disappeared. He had gone straight upstairs to the preschool room and was up doing arts and crafts...just him and Miss Danai. Then when it was time to leave I told him to say goodbye to Miss Danai and he walks up to her gives her a hug, leans back then gives her a kiss smack on the lips. Miss Danai looked a little shocked! I guess he's very comfortable with her already (she was London's preschool teacher for the past two years). Sutton absolutely loves preschool but he's a little irritated that he only gets to go two days a week and not every day like his big sis! PS- He's so proud of his new Puma shoes...he is so Doug's son!

Tahoe

To celebrate Kristi's 30th birthday, the family took a trip to Tahoe. The weather was perfect! London spent about 4 hours straight building sand castles and villages. Sutton practiced his swimming. Doug enjoyed the sun and Kristi and Taite relaxed in the shade. It was a perfect end to the summer.

London's first day of kindergarten

So I arrive at the school and drive up through the kindergarten drop-off zone and see all the new kindergartners holding on to their parents legs looking like they were going to start crying (some of them were). I didn't even get the car in park and London is jumping out and running onto the playground toward her classroom. I jumped out of the car and ran after her to make her atleast give me a kiss goodbye. That's London for you... Miss independant. Most mom's imagine taking their first child to her first day of school a little different than that, but I know London and I knew it would go just like it did. I couldn't be happier for her because she had been waiting for that day all summer long! When I picked her up from school I asked her if she made any new friends. She says, "Yeah mom, I made so many new friends and I don't even know any of their names but they are all my friends." I don't know how we got such an outgoing child...doug and I were both horribly shy as children!

I guess she's a little on the short side.

Soccer Frenzie

London just started playing on her first soccer team, they are called the Wild Things. We went out and bought London all her new gear and the next morning Sutton snuck into her room, stole her gear and dressed himself up in it cleats and all. He proudly bursts into mom & dad's room and says "ta-da." Needless to say, he is obsessed with soccer and got his own gear a week later when his grandpa mark and grandma charlotte surprised him with it for his birthday (you would have thought he won the lottery with his reaction to the gift!) London is having fun socializing at soccer practice with all her friends while Sutton is on the sidelines geared up and practicing his dribbling and shooting skills.
